Dr. Paulino: Industrial Food Chain

What are the benefits and risks of using the industrial food chain?

     The benefits of using the industrial food chain is that the workers who are making or growing the food get even more money. In the text it states," Finally Kroc gave in and approved super-sized portions, and what followed was a dramatic rise in sales,"(pg.80). Because of the idea of super sizing instead of the old fashion small soft drink the sellers, (in this case mcdonald's) more customers buy the over sized soft drinks getting them even more money. The negative things about this is that because a lot of fast foods are being sold people are eating a lot more fast food than they should and that isn't healthy. In the text it states," Huge amounts of sweets and fats fool our instincts and we wind up eating much more than we should,"(pg.82). All these calories and fats are being consumed by people and even more is being eaten than what they should be to be healthy.
