The author discusses the fact that cross breeding corn has both a very good output but it also carries some negatives along side it.It allows corn to be built to withstand anything, well mostly anything it will come in contact with and allows it fight it off.Exterme temperatures can't even affect the corn when it's traveling somewhere,or most extreme conditions in general really. But doing all this actually doesn't always mean these genetics will carry on through out other of the later "generations" of corn. The process will actually have to be repeated which isn't so easy and will cost money
