Dr.Dones Industrial risks vs. benefits
There are many benefits to the the industrial food chain, but the risks outweigh those benefits. The text states "The feedlots are also breeding grounds for new deadly bacteria". (49) This means that while there is a great number of cows on the feedlots, there are deadly bacteria being born which can infect the cows and eventually us humans. The text also states "But waste from the CAFO's is a huge source of very toxic pollution"(49) This quote means that while the CAFO's are raising cows for us to eat, they are also damaging the environment we live in.
