I dont believe the hunter gatherer foodchain is practical in the u.s because it is not needed. There are the resources that are needed to make this happen but people will not do it because they don't need to. It would also be a waste of time to go through with all of that when you have other food that is already prepared for you. Some people do not have the effort and would like things done for them.
