Dr. Uwawuike: Local Sustainable Reflection
The risks of the local sustainable food chain does not outweigh the benefit because the risks do jot affect the health of the people and isn't as negative as the other food chain. It is stated in the text "Unlike supermarket eggs, Polyface eggs are different at different time of the year...For example, lambs are born in the springs...not ready to be eaten for eight to ten months..."(189) This quote shows the risks of is food chain, certain foods can not be eaten all year long, which is a challenge for fakers and customers. It is also stated in the text "The chicken manure fertilizes the grass, supplying all the nitrogen it needs."(163) This suite shows the benefit of this food chain, it is good for the environment and is grown without chemicals. Therefore, although the are many risks of the this food chain, it isn't as lethal as other food chains and can be felt with. The benefits, however, are not only beneficial to the people eating it but to the environment too.
