Dr. Uwawuike: Omnivore's Dilemma
The solution for the Omnivore's Dilemma the local sustainable food chain offers is that the farms grow a variety of food. It is stated in the text "Polyface Farm raises chicken, beef, turkeys, eggs, rabbits, and pigs, plus tomatoes, sweet corn, grapes, and berries." It is also stated in the text "It had been grazed twice by beef cattle. After the cattle it had been home to several hundred laying hens." These two quotes show a solution that the local sustainable food chain offers to the omnivore's dilemma. The omnivore's dilemma is the issue that since omnivores can eat anything it is hard for them to know what is the right thing to eat. However, since the local sustainable farms grow and raise a variety of animals that are grown mostly naturally, omnivores would know the right thing to eat. Therefore, the local sustainable farms offer a solution the omnivore's dilemma by growing a variety of mostly natural crops and animals.
